How it all Began

WAKE UP WAKE UP… WHO COULD IT BE?

“Who’s in the bag today”

Within two years of opening its doors for business in July 2008, Jiggy Wrigglers rapidly grew to run over 50 groups a week in Hampshire. The first two franchises were introduced two years later.

DIRECTOR

An award-winning Southampton based business owner and entrepreneur, Katie Clunn built a solid career in the financial services sector before the birth of her child. Maternity leave allowed her time to reflect on the future professional direction she wanted to take. She now takes an active role in all aspects of Jiggy Wrigglers, including hands- on involvement in groups, training and, in broad terms, overseeing the running of the company.

ETHOS OF JIGGY WRIGGLERS…

Our focus is about having fun – groups are social occasions, not classes; entertainers run our groups, not teachers!Groups are upbeat, high energy and dynamic – no stuffy, old-fashioned classes.

At Jiggy wrigglers we believe that children should get to explore, sing and dance, to find their own unique rhythm and experience pure enjoyment. We don’t have strict ‘Sit in a circle’ rules, we give the children lots of space and get them jumping all over the room, parents are encouraged to join in with some of the activities or sit back and relax for others. We have designed our playlists with a light sprinkle of structure to keep things flowing… not too much, but just enough for the children to learn through repetition.

SOOOOO… WHO’S IN THE BAG TODAY

We start by waking up one of our Jiggy friends, snoring in the Jiggy bag,
“Wake up, Wake up who could it be?”

Children know and love Jiggy Wrigglers for their unique puppets in the bag.

“Welcome song” and Wiggle to our “Warm up”. To fill the time we offer a variety of energetic action songs, traditional nursery rhymes, original Jiggy Wriggler songs that you wont hear anywhere else and finish with calm music and sensory material. Songs are accompanied by vibrant props, sensory equipment, meet and great puppets, instruments, parachute games and lots lots more.

OUR PROPS AND PLAYLISTS CHANGE FORTNIGHTLY…..

Along the way we also encourage the children to tidy away and bring the props back to the Jiggy bag, teaching them all the good practices you’ll want to repeat at home. Then, after all the fun, we put the kettle on and have a well-deserved tea or coffee (for the parents) and a cup of juice for the children. Plus, biscuits for everyone! Alternatives are on offer if you don’t drink hot drinks, but we can’t list everything… Sometimes we even have cake *Due to Covid some venues are not able to offer hot drinks and we ask that if they do you bring your own travel mug with a lid, for children we will provide the snacks but parents are asked to bring a names water bottle for their child.
